Re: Daisy Mascot
Nice to see you remember every time Donna
I kind of thought you were all getting sick of Daisy, I mean how many photos can you see of the same dog! And there's so many of your poochies out there that are just as cute.
I will get a photo to you in the next couple of days then, but be warned, soon I'm going to be out of the country for 7 whole weeks, so enjoy while you can!
Thank you to all for loving my Daisy

Re: Daisy Mascot
yeah, pretty much Lorie. Of course it's summer over here, we already had a 3 week holiday to NZ booked to see my step-grandaughter turn 3 on the 24th Dec and visit family, now my mum is not doing too well mentally after almost 3 years after having breast cancer, so I've decided just to spend the whole month of January just .....helping her. So 7 weeks off work and I've got the job on Saturday of trying to rebook the whole of January's clients - argghh. Never mind, you do that for family don't you, I know if the tables were turned, she'd do it for me.
Hope it's blimmin warmer in NZ than it has been! that's the whole reason I left NZ in the first place!!

Re: Daisy Mascot
Hope you get some down time, Lisa. It sounds like it's going to be pretty hectic, so take care. My OH is from NZ, Tauranga. Where will you be staying?
Daisy pic, though desired, can wait. Maybe someone can take temporary mascot position?

Re: Daisy Mascot
Hi Merryl.
We're going to the mainland first , Timaru, but my mum lives in Taupo in the North Island. Been trying to lose a couple of kilos so i can pile it back on and more with fish and chips, icecream etc etc, can't wait![/quote]
Hi Lisa,
How could anyone get tired of that adorable little face? Just got hold of "Notes from the Grooming Table" and checked out Pekingese - I like Daisy's trim much better. Love Taupo, NZ seafood and "Tekaway" in general. Always put on several kilos - take bigger pants At least you'll miss our deadly summer heat, lucky girl. BTW - who's minding Daisy and co.?

Re: Daisy Mascot
LOL is that an offer Merryl?
Unfortunately we lost our house sitter last week, but my mother in law is staying in town while both her kids and their respective families all go to NZ. Our big dog Sam can be funny with strangers so i asked my MIL if she could just 'feed' the dogs knowing full well she will take them round to her house on the hot days, Sam will be on her couch after eating a sandwich and daisy will be eating the cat biscuits 'accidentally', plus a friend with dogs/daisy playmates, is going to come and dog-nap Daisy to go and play so she doesn't get bored. I'm away for 7 weeks but my husband is back in only 3 and Daisy is a daddy's girl, so all good. I'm going to miss her though

Hi Lisa. Take good care over your break and I hope all is well. Hope you'll get the chance to still drop a line in and say hello... We'll miss seeing Daisy but we will probably survive much better than you will. That will be hard. In case I miss you at this busy time of year
All the very best wishes to you and your family for Chrissy. .
It's been a FABULOUS YEAR OF DAISY....

Re: Daisy Mascot
I second the best wishes - keep us informed while you're away if you have time. Had to laugh at Daisy's first pic- she looks almost demonic, most unDaisylike. Second pic more like our Daisy!

Re: Daisy Mascot
This is my husband trying to cool Daisy off as another storm is rolling in and she's starting to pant and panic. I am so annoyed, she was perfect with storms till we got a big crack of lightning in one of our storms just before xmas, we all yelled, now she's got it in her head they're to feared. One hint of thunder and she's panting - rrrrr

Re: Daisy Mascot
Lisa i had great success with Roxie using Rescue Remedy...she is a different dog altogether now from a panting drooling mess to laying quietly in a "safe place" usually at my feet under my desk...I often feared Roxie would have a heart attack she became so anxious!!

Re: Daisy Mascot
It comes with a dropper and if you fill it thats a good start...works out to be about 1-2 mls
i guess i re administer about one hour later more if needed ...it is a natural relaxant...the one Anthony is referring to might be sufficient to just give one dose...It is good if you can give before the storm fireworks etc start as a preventative from reaching the heights of full on anxiety ...Once administered combined with ignoring the behaviour (even though this is difficult) so as not to reinforce it over time Roxie became conditioned to a new behaviour and she is now all but cured...She hears the first crack of thunder retreats to her safe place and waits it out...I would never have imagine such a great result!!
No quivering...no drooling lol
