My Old Boy
Here is my 13 1/2 yr old Aussie. He had surgery a month ago for a large lump removal so his hind leg was shaved. "Foster" loves to swim at the cottage and with so much hair and his age he has a heck of a time trying to get back out of the water, so...........................
I gave him a new hair do.

Re: My Old Boy
Thanks, we went to the cottage this weekend and he went for his first swim of the summer. No problem getting back out and dried in about 20 minutes, why didn't I do this sooner LOL.

He looks wonderful and such a natural looking finish. What blades did you use?

Re: My Old Boy
I used the "B" or green Stainless Steel comb on him, it worked out really well. I think he is enjoying his new doo , he's been running around like a puppy since I did it.

Re: My Old Boy
Hi CanadianGroomer. Fantastic job. I used plastics on a border collie last year and it was a disaster. Bought the stainless straight away. Ohh and the border collie? All fixed.
Ohh btw someone told me that it was Canadian Festival the other day. Fireworks and a big Celebration.
Hope I'm right because I wanted to wish you,
HAPPY CANADIAN DAY....
Let me know if a need to take my foot out of my mouth.

Re: My Old Boy
July 1st is Canada Day. Because it falls always on the 1st sometimes it works out to be a long weekend other years it is mid-week. When it falls on the weekend we are usually up north at our cottage and we have a potluck with all our neighbors and then at night we watch the fireworks from the dock, it is very pretty, all the boats come from all around and park out in the lake and they set the fireworks off from a barge by the beach. When it falls on a weekday we just have a BBQ and sometimes Lorne (hubby) takes the girls over to the local park where they have a fireworks display, concerts etc. My daughter went with her friends this year and saw Amanda Marshall. I'm so glad my old boy "Foster" is deaf now the fireworks used to drive him insane.

Re: My Old Boy
Looks like he certainly feels grreat with the "lighter" haircut. He looks a nice "type" of aussie too...Well bred., Keeps a nice shape even at that age> They are a popular show dog here and I love blue merles and nice tricilours...

Re: My Old Boy
My preference is for the blue merle too and he has good merling. I have loads of friends with aussies!
He is certainly showing true aussie character in these pics and he would be much more comfy.

Shona. I am so sorry that you have lost your old friend. It certainly does leave an empty space in your heart. He will keep my old boy Jack company while they wait for us at Rainbow Bridge.

Re: My Old Boy
Hey Shona...Sorry to hear of your loss...It comes not so long after hearing of the passing of another great aussie my friends Sharon's Angel...Though they lived miles apart on the opposite side of the world i am sure they are together right now romping and playing together in typical aussie fashion...It is always us left behind that feel the pain of loss which can only be eased by the passing of time...God bless you as you grieve for your special friend and RIP Foster little man
