Clever ways to get work ;)
Thought I'd share with you guys a fantastic way to get work, with fantastic owners, and well maintained doggies. I've spent some time around the area drumming up business with local foster carers. They all know each other, and they all appreciate a really good groom. I offer them reduced prices for their foster dogs, they pay full price for their own dogs. Then they are really happy to recommend me to other people. So basically I get a job with usually 2 or 3 dogs, who are very well cared for and living with lovely people who tip aswell. I'm happy I helped the rescue cause in a round about way and get I some really easy, regular work. Oh and these ladies love a chat!
Anyone got any other clever/easy ways to get jobs?
My business is still growing, so I'm still working hard in some aspects to get it going, but think I am edging ever closer to getting well known and having a good rep in the area.

My local Vet that I have known for about 20 years, sends clients my way when they ask the clinic if they could recommend a groomer. It's great, doesn't really cost me anything - aside from the chocolates and cakes that I give them every now and then.

Vets, petshop, I had a business card enlarged to a4 laminated & it hangs in their waiting room/notice board ..word of mouth (the best form) , facebook, & a small ad in the pet section of our local paper.
Oh & the amount of people that stop a client who is walking a coloured dog and ask where it was done hehehe
