Are you bathing the cat? If so, where I used to work, there was a cat lady that used to come in, and she would use a petroleum based hand cleaner (like mechanics use), and used to stink the shop out with petrol smell. Also, at last years PetExpo in Sydney, at the Challenge stand, they had the Spectrum Pet Products people there, and they had a new Super Cleaning stuff. Supposed to use it before using shampoo, but I've started to use a couple of squirts in with the shampoo (hopefully that's OK - no complaints so far LOL). If you're not bathing, then yes, I've heard about the baby powder and tried it, but doesn't work as well as washing. You could try one of those waterless wash things - I haven't, but if you do, let us know how it goes.
BTW, welcome to the board. You've definitely made yourself at home already, and I hope to learn something from what the others post about your Crested problem too. I'm Anthony from Sydney too

hi guys...
I am preparing to branch into cat grooming soon. Ordered some DVD's from US,and a bunch of other specialised cat grooming stuff. Maybe i will get some info on the 'stud tail ' from the dvd's when i get them.
Anthony i am going to order that Super Cleaner stuff too.....so you are finding it useful??

Yeah Tammy, It's great for the greasy, dirty dogs. But also, I've found that it tends to kill fleas... I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has had a similar result, and if you find that too. You're supposed to use it as a pre-shampoo, and then use your shampoo after, but I've mixed it in with the normal shampoo too - 2 or 3 squirts, and it seems to still do a good job.

Groomers Goop is GREAT - had a white persian tom in for clip off (lion clip) and he had stud tail and a VERY oily coat, just used a small amount on his dry coat and then washed off, he came out lovely and white and so so so clean and soft....
