Re: Daisy Mascot
How funny. She really was able to breathe OK and wasn't under undue stress even though it looks that way, so no need to call the RSPCA kids, Daisy's alive and kicking, really. Phew, a week of 'the' Daisy being 'uncute', now what else can I do ....................

Re: Daisy Mascot
Thanks guys. After almost $500 to just get a freakin lump out, I wasn't too game to send the lump off to be checked. Bad mother I know but I had 2 vets tell me it looks harmless and that was enough for me!

Re: Daisy Mascot
Update on Daisy.
Well I think I did a silly thing ??? I took the stitches out myself tonight and after a bath and a play, the wound opened up again. Would you believe that in our town there is NO emergency vet service after 8pm !! I checked with one of the vets last week (where Daisy got done) and they said they will answer the phone - NOT! I'm so pissed, isn't this a duty of care?
The other week there was a story in the paper of a lady who's dog was not in a good way. Again, no vet service here to answer the call, so she rings Esperance which is a 4 hour drive from here (nearest vet). Gets her kids out of bed and in the car, it's midnight, goes to get the dog and the dogs dead! Linda, can you tell me if this is a legal duty of care issue?
Anyway, my husand works in security/first aid and has come home with a million steri strips, none of which are sticking too well, tape on top of that and a bandage wrapped around her tummy on top of that.
What would make the wound open up again?
My poor 10 yr old son was in tears, no-one answering their phones, it was just all horrible.
I'll keep you posted. I'm sure it's not as bad as I'm making it sound, Daisy was fine with it all !! LOL, it's just mum panicking.
