Re: Belly watchin
See here is he problem....my daughter lost/misplaced my camera. Zumi is wonderful and Zena is slowly getting there. Not much difference in height as far as I can see. As soon as I find the camera you can be sure there will be pics.

Re: Belly watchin
Well if that camera doesn't turn up soon I will be the anxious one. It was a gift from my parents and they spent alot of $$$. It's the Coolpix camera, the whole setup with exrtra batteries and everything.
I do have to watch that left rear fetlock of Zena's. Still a little swelling. She is up pretty good on all her hooves except for that particular one. We hope the more she is out exersizing it the stronger it will get. When her boots came in the mail they were already too small. I will keep you all posted.

Oh boy....please pray for Weather. She has twisted her colon and I am pretty much alone on the farm. Too much too handle. Will keep everyone posted. This sucks. Vet was here yesterday.....I can't afford 10k for surgery.

Re: Belly watchin
Thanks. Nick should be here soon. My stomache is in knots and so is my back. I walked Weather a long time hoping it was colic, not that that is good but.....After the vet drugged her I held her very heavy head for a very ling time. Stormy and Zumi are stalled so just waiting for Nick. He can keep a watchful eye on her at his place. I just feel horrible since Weather is not allowed any food. She is hungry since the painkiller work.

Re: Belly watchin
Nick picked her and Zena up about a half hour ago. I am keeping busy. He said there is little chance for her but I will take little over none.
Stormy is a mess and freaking out because her sister is missing from her paddock. Her and Weather are like 2 peas in a pod. Inseperable. I worry about her also.

Re: Belly watchin
Well, remarkably Weather doesn't seem to have pain and actually pooped. Nick fed her a little. The vet said no food but she can't starve. Nick thinks he may have untwisted it sometime at night. She must have laid down. I checked her now and then last night and this morning but she was always standing. Weather rarely lays down. Even after she had Zena she was up while Stormy was definitely resting.
So if this is true we now have to worry about what damage she may have. Maybe the horse god will smile upon her. I hope so. Stormy is missing her sister. She is being a PIA. Hope Weather is fine and can come home soon.
Keep praying, maybe it's working.

Re: Belly watchin
Well she is eating and pooping and has no pain as far as I know.
I miss her and Zena. Zumi misses nuzzling Zena thru the fence. If I hear more I will let everyone know.
And the vet wanted to put her down cuz we didn't have 10 grand for surgery. He said she wouldn't make it 24 hours.....thank god we have Nick. I think he may be St. Francis. How will I ever repay him for his generosity.

What a great recovery Jonna, you are so lucky to have a Nick and I am sure some alcohol will be sufficient payment

Re: Belly watchin
So glad to hear that she is doing well - it is so true that vets aren't always right One vet would have had us put Sama down last October and she was good for another 6 months!

Nick does not expect "re payment" ...... i bet he is satisfied that his efforts have led to her recovery as to him the horse welfare is the primary concern ...Glad to hear all if getting better

Re: Belly watchin
They're coming home tomorrow morning! I will be in the salon . I hope she is good and the vet was wrong. Maybe she was just really blocked and it pushed her colon over? Never happened here before but who knows. I hope that's all it is/was.
