A bit sad here...5th puppy didn't make it....wee boy I've named Ebony. I tried mouth to mouth and cardiac resusitation but he was very tiny and didn't have any muscle tone......Lily tried but seemed to know he wasn't viable. We both tried...RIP Ebony.....
On a better note she is nursing 9 healthy looking puppies. 2 Black girls, 2 white girls, 2 white boys and 3 black boys. So far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember "The Bodyguard"?
Thank you for all caring about Ebony...I couldn't bear to bury him so he's being cremated and I'll be able to scatter his ashes
Louis is allowed to enter the whelping box and lick the puppies and is "The Bodyguard". Wild Child and Laura get a growling Go figure??
Has anyone else experienced a male dog caring for a litter? I have to prise him away and then he just lays down as close as he is able, as in the picture. I'm thinking puppy named Whitney!

Merryl. Glad to hear that you have 9 healthy babies. I am so sorry that you lost Ebony. The pics that you have posted look great. Can't wait to see their progress as they grow.
Take care of yourself and get some sleep. Lily will take care of them while you rest.

Yes Donna, a white named Whitney would be cool And Brooke , as you know, I'm undecided....Doggy doos I'm still worried about a little boy - I know Lily does her best but he is so lethargic You've probably worked out that I'm a worrier.
Why why do I breed? I guess because Lily produces lovely babies that go to grateful homes.....and I get to see them! Like Jet, who has the life of Riley, with Brooke and her adorable family.

You must keep one. That is an unwritten breeding commandment. It's in the Breeder's Bible. They are so precious Merryl.
Shirley, what kind of pup is the little guy under the towel. He reminds me so much of my Rocky.

Sad News
4 puppies died during the night, despite all our efforts to save them. I am bereft and no idea why - and terrified for the remaining 5.
