Re: Belly watchin
Very nice Brooke. It is a great expense, we are also having problems in that department. I hope I have pics to put on here sometime in March. We have alot of prep work to do for the upcoming foals.

Re: Belly watchin
We think Stormy will foal this weekend. She is full of milk but her tail hasn't weakened yet. Just checked the mare cam but she slipped out of the stall, I'm guessing she went for a drink. If she's not back soon I will have to drive up...in the fresh snow....on top of the other snow. She has been gone a while.

Sinner wrote:Horses are gorgeous....wish I had had a lot more experience than yrs ago kid riding..... My daughter has just met a lovely "country" man from NSW and is moving interstate to be closer. She did a Jillaroo "holiday" and was smitten with the son of the property owners. I'll miss her, although I'll be glad the 5 hr drive fortnighly to see him will cease. She is going to nurse in the small country hospital and help out on the property the family runs breeding thoroughbreds. ( The boyfriend gave her a horse ( ex trotter) for her birthday as well as an akubra hat, whip and leather boots. I think she is spoilt!!!! Hope the foals go ok Jonna
Awww what a romatic story! Good luck to her

Re: Belly watchin
Still watching....I am pretty sure Stormy will foal out ok. It is Weather I am worried about. We had problems last time. The baby wasn't positioned right. She isn't close yet, eating alot. Stormy has cut way back on eating and is laying down alot. Also "nesting". Looks funny when a horse does that.
The bad thing about Stormy is that she is a dickens to let suckle. Need to put a piece of plywood up at the stalls. Yeah that's what we use. Pin her against a wall, plywood is our shield.....fun, fun, fun.....Puppies are easier to suckle, right?

Re: Belly watchin
He is very srong and strong willed. We try to help him nurse but he wants to do it by himself. Weather is showing no signs of being remotely close and it worries me.
