Yesterday while petting SweetPea i noticed a large lump to the side of her jawline. My heart sunk as soon as i felt it....i have felt that kind of lump before . I immediately assumed it was lymphatic.
Today we went off to the vet .First a needle ,all we got was blood,next surgery for a biopsy.....i stayed with her the whole time,it wasnt pretty,as blood vessels supplying the tumor were severed and lots of blood. So we should have the results friday,perhaps monday,but the vet confirmed my suspicions that it most likely a lymphatic cancer,which is very aggressive,and our time may be short.
We are still kinda shellshocked,she has certainly stolen our hearts in just a few months she's been with us. She is estimated between 2 and 3 yrs old. so young Sad

We need all your positive thoughts in the next few days ,we are hoping against hope that its something else

Oh Tammy, thats so terrible for you all. I hope the vet is wrong and you continue to live a long time with Sweetpea. Will keep fingers and toes crossed for you all, and let us know what happens. Thinking of you.

Thankyou everyone.
SweetPea is an exceptional patient,but then she's an exception girl all round. Sarah i know you will love her when you meet her Smile

we are having trouble already with Troy.They cant play at all because he just loves to give her 'love bites' around the head.His heart is broken ,he just sits outside her crate/gate ,moping around. If we lose her,its him thats going to feel it the hardest.They're BFF already . I dont know what we will do.

I'm rather dreading answering the phone tomorrow Crying or Very sad

we say goodbye to SweetPea this afternoon at 5.30 Sad

we finally got the results back today and its as bad as it can be. The prognosis is six weeks at best. We could give her cortisone to shrink the tumor a little and help her breathe and swallow better,but its not going to prolong things by much if we did. So ,we have made the heart wrenching decision to let her go before she suffers a single day of real discomfort

RIP SweetPea


On the other side of it we have happy news too,which i will share with you soon

Oh i am so sorry.... it is so hard making that decision but the one you made showed you trully cared for her...

It's a very sad time Tammy. At least we can "assist" our bestest friends with their final journey. May she leave you all with such teasured memories and may Troy soon find a new play partner!! I too will light a candle tonite as another crosses that fabled bridge!!!!

Oh Tammy my heart breaks for you and your family as you say good bye to ur treasured Sweetpea...God blessed you with her for a short time only but the joy and memories she leaves with you will bless you for many years to come...My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time...You have given her the greatest gift you could and that is a loving home and sparing from any suffering brought about by the cancer....RIP little Sweetpea xoxo
