Nikes new colours
Had a few bottles with bits of colour left over...mix & match today :-)
Semi Permanent...last 6-8 washes.
I do like the effect a coloured dog has on people :-)

Re: Nikes new colours
Looks really nice. Did you just kind of brush one one colour and then the other underneath or did you do some blending?
I'm thinking of doing blended rainbow colours on my chi's chest (my av pic) when his blue paws are faded completely, but I'm not sure how I'll do it yet.

Re: Nikes new colours
Thanks all :-)
Tail... started with roots 1st with the pink/red mix ...then top 3/4 of tail...I used the end of tail to hold it up while working the red thru..then tail onto the foil & purple on the ends ...I made sure the 2 colours did not mix while folding foil ...I paint/cover the rear of dog around tail in shampoo so if you get any splatter while doing roots it wont take & can be wiped of.
The ears were 2 lots of foils per ear, a thin purple one at the front ( I did not have much left lol) I also cover around ears in shampoo to avoid colour transfer if the dog shakes it head on me :-)
Love to see pics of others adventures with colour conbinations :-)

Re: Nikes new colours
Beautiful effect and great tips - I have had disasters with colour running....no white dogs to colour at the moment - I'm sure my show standard would not be appreciated coloured in the ring

Re: Nikes new colours
I've been wanting for soooo long to play with colour, since we gave "Troy" green spots..... .
I've asked plenty of people but can't get anyone who will let me do there dog. I was hoping to do one of mine that I knew would sit still..... Any suggestions????

Re: Nikes new colours
TY ... these colours are "Paintbox Fudge" available at your local price attack, chemist, hairderssers etc...the beauty with fudge is that if you dont like it (or stuff up oops)...6ish washes & its gone :-) allows you to practice your technique without the fear that your dog will look funny forever lol
Just make sure you coat the other bits dog in straight shampoo/conditioner etc around the area you are dying :-) & if you do get a bit somewhere else..you have a min or 2 to spray with water & wipe off b4 it takes :-)
Happy colouring all :-)

Thanks Nat.
I think I've found my first model for cut & color. I'll have to have a look... How long should it take for ears and tail...???

Re: Nikes new colours
takes around 10 mins to apply...have everything out ready before you start to apply colour...including an extra pair of gloves & extra foil cut to length, the process time is around 20-40 min depending on the depth of colour wanted...so an average of 30min with a shot of heat from the dryer is a good starting piont.
the red/pinks last the longest..the blues/purples wear off the fastest ...so leave the blue tones on for the full 40 mins.
Watch out that you do not wrap the rinsed /damp dog with the newly dyed bits against head/body in a towel....dry ears & tail & keep them outta ya towel the heat from the dryer seems to set the colour fully...2nd bath no probs :-) Have fun & we wanna see pics :-)
