Re: good news!
Thank you all again for your support and concern - it was very important and helpful to me during that trying time. I can now enjoy them as one hopes to and play with them (too much)...It is such fun watching young ones of any species grow and thrive. They are bravely trying to walk on all four legs, growling and barking - all that with their eyes still shut

Vet can't say - it will be a mystery forever - just one of those things that can go wrong. People die from it too!!

Found this Jonna it might help...
Septicemia: This term refers to the invasion of the bloodstream by virulent microorganisms from a focus of infection. It is generally accompanied by fever, sweating and abatement. Breathing and the normal functioning of the heart can be enormously unbalanced and there can be small hemorrhages in the visible mucous membranes. There are many causes in which the septic micro organisms invade the blood and circulate distributing the toxins throughout the tissues and organs. You must be especially careful of big open wounds as they are prone to infection and anything that can cause infection. Consult the vet.
