Does anyone know anything that actually work with colored clothes in the washer that actually kills all pet virus? I know only Reg Bleach diluted in hot water will work for white clothes but what about colored clothes? All my clothes are dark. The Clorox 2 for colored clothes doesn't disinfect. Does someone need to come out with this product already for Groomers or people who work with animals?

Nappy(diaper) wash might work.
You need some Napisan!

ask the vets what they wash their scrubs in.If its good enough for that, it should work for you.
Napisan is colour safe.

Hi Shivering puppy

I work in a vet clinic and to wash our scrubs we just use regular washing powder. Is there a particular virus that your trying to kill? With our isolation procedures at work when we have a dog with something like parvo in we wear disposable aprons to handle the animal and then mist ourselves down once we are done with trigene or F10 which are veterinary disinfectants that kill parvo and other animal viruses just to be sure. When I do my washing of towels and grooming wear I do add Dettol Sanitising Laundry Rinse which kills bacteria such as Staphylococcus and E.coli in both hot and cold water and fungus too just so i don't spread infection or stuff like ringworm.

I hope this helps. I don't know of any products that you wash clothes with that will kill animal viruses though.

I bought a Gallon of disinfectant from E-Z groom. I'm pretty sure it kill everything and you can use it in the wash. I use it to clean out my Prima system. I'll re-read the label tonight and get the name.

I emailed both Petedge about the Top Performance one and EZGroom...
I know there are tons of stuff that disinfectant but those are mostly for kennel runs, cages, floors... but I was talking about adding it to the washer for COLORED CLOTHES that won't kill the clothes as well as Car Seats/Seatbelts, Office Chairs....
"Fabrics".

I'm gonna ask my Mom. She was a dry cleaner for 35 years. She knows a lot of stuff about fabrics, maybe not that tho.
She had contracts with the fire, police and emt depts. She could maybe know something..

Amonia? Where do you get that? That's safe to add to reg detegrent to dark colored clothes...and smocks that are crinkle nylon? I just don't want to try something that will kill my clothes. Laughing

In the years since its discovery, grapefruit seed extract has been tested and validated by the FDA, USDA, the Pasteur Institute in France, and numerous physicians. The active ingredient of grapefruit seed extract is non-toxic and is synthesized from the seed and pulp of certified organically grown grapefruit. The process converts the grapefruit bioflavonoids (polyphenolics) into an extremely potent compound that is being used to kill strep, staph, salmonella, E. Coli, candida, herpes, influenza, parasites, fungi, and more.

GSE has been proven in laboratory tests to be 10 to 100 times more effective as a disinfectant than chlorine, colloidal silver, and iodine. The United States Department of Agriculture tested GSE and found it effective against four animal viruses: Foot and Mouth Disease, African Swine fever, Swine Vesicular Disease, and Avian influenza.

When the FDA tested grapefruit seed extract in 1990 with 200 patients who had internal parasitic infections, they found that it gave more symptomatic relief than any other treatment. Researchers at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil found the substance to be 100% effective in skin disinfection when used as a pre-surgical preparation compared to a 72% effectiveness rate for alcohol.

Seems pretty cool! I'm gonna look into this more. And if you read the other link I posted it's even safe to use on baby birds!

If you soak your clothes in any kennel disinfectant that kills pavo overnight, then wash it in your usual detergent that should kill the virus.

Shiv, I was just thinking aloud about my Mom, and didn't finish the thought,I guess.
I was thinking about older people and how they spend a lifetime learning, and knowing stuff, and then, it mostly, all goes with them. Kinda sad. Anyway, just a suggestion from someone who washed people's clothes for a long time!
Sometimes, "old fashoned "solutions are simple and work good. Smile
