Re: latest groomer to groomer mag
I just bought this DVD.
When I ordered it, Dawn asked if Mingo was coming to Hershey if she could use her for a demo to do this on.
She's used Mingo before in demos but Now I don't know... I'll have to grow her out in the hottest time of year and not color her for awhile and honestly, this is no major creative indever, even if it is cute. I think Dawn is a lovely person and I got some good tips from the DVD, BUT she did not finish the groom trim wise.. I think that should have been on there too.

OK, when you rinse it out, doesn't it bleed, and get into the other bits that you want to keep white? Newb here

That was one of the things on the DVD that was made clear. She rinsed the lower colors first, keeping her hand just under the color she was rinsing to protect the white underneath, the went to the next highest color and did the same.... Does that help?

Thanks Lorie. Guess I just need to get my hands "dirty" so to speak, and just experiment. BTW, I assume in those pics she's using Manic Panic. I think that the only place that you can get it here is at Goth shops

I use dyex to doing ears and tail, when you rinse out you get a light colour running through the coat BUT after you finish rinsing (uptil the water runs clear) its all gone no problems at all.............by the time you rinse the colour has "set" in the spots that you want it to.... and doesn't have time to set from the run off..

yes ,i use dyex and never had a problem with risidual staining from 'bleeds' either. you'll have heart failure the first time when you rinse and it runs all through the coat, but it doesnt stick ,only the bit where you apply and let it set.

Need a new white dog... my girl is 12 now and gives me about 15 minutes to groom her. Don't think Jeanette would want me to do her girl... tho, she hasn't clipped off the "unusual" clip I did.

Need to touch it up... did it while she was in MEL a while back. Will try this week. Another quick question, you put the colour on dry coat, I put it on wet, and was a bit patchy?

Re: Groomer to groomer mag
Hi everyone
I am new to this forum and I have only just ordered an introductory set of all the different colours. I am a little nervous about it but I dont have any ones dogs to practice on.
I would really love to see some pictures of peoples dogs that they have colour. Would that be possible please?
OH and can this groomer to groomer may be bought at any news agent shop?
Thanks
Donna

Re: latest groomer to groomer mag
Hi Klip n Klean K9,
Welcome.
The first colour I did was on my poodle Jasper, and then I did Brandy my other poodle. With Jasper I waited until I was ready to cut his poms off, to let him grow back into his winter clip. So that way if I messed up I could just cut it all off.
After doing Jasper I was a bit more confident to try Brandy.
