Name our new dog
ok,we have just taken in a rescue Maremma Sheepdog. She is delightful,gentle,beautiful...but completely nameless! nearly 2 yrs old ,and never had a name to call her own.Just tied to a tree in a yard full of broken glass
of course she is large ,and white ,and of italian heritage .
I like short 1 or 2 syllable names (ex...Dan ,Rita etc) ,or otherwise ,fun kinda names like Mrs Pricklebottom, for example !
We have spun a dozen names ,but nothing is really fitting her,so can everyone get their thinking caps on
Thanks

Re: Name our new dog
One of the kids from the family of my favourite labradoodle Milo, has a daughter named Remy. Maremma - remma - Remy... just a thought.

Re: Name our new dog
well here she is....the first day she was here
i shaved her off because she was a real mess, besides its already into the mid to high 30's here ,and i wanted to get a good look at the wound on her neck from the chain she was on...
and out in the yard looking out for Poppett & Little Man
she has settled beautifully ,what a sweetheart. Troy is loving her company, and he is already much more settled
And....i think we may have a name. will confirm later

Good to hear that she's settling in so well and looking after her new herd. Is Troy teaching her to hunt rabbits yet

Re: Name our new dog
Bless her, she is gorgeous. What a difference the clip made! Is she in good health generally? Like all dogs that come from a nightmare situation to their dream home she looks like she's enjoying the company and the love and wont look back. Well done!

Re: Name our new dog
aside from a cut on her foot, and a slight scarring around her neck from a chain, she seems to be in great shape. She went out for her first walk with Troy today, and after several minutes, worked out what i wanted from her,and we did an hours walk without too many problems.
I think we are going to call her Nan (nanny) because she is such a gentle patient thing with all the dogs ,but i had a suggestion of Nonna ,in keeping with her italian heritage....what do you all think of that ?

I don't mind Nonna. Did you use a 10 on her... it looks pretty short. Nice work though
