I am a surrogate granny to my daughters best friends son Russell, this is how we spent this morning, on beautiful Lake Yealering which is across the road from my home. My saint Kitty made sure she was close by him all the time making sure he was ok first time in the water, just couldn't get him out in the end. Smile

That looks so beautiful. You're so lucky to have that lake so close. We're going camping next week to a dam, it's big, haven't been there before to camp, but the water colour's slightly different to your photo! LOL, at least it's wet and cool. The St Bernard's must be a tolerant breed to handle a child on their back, don't think my big ridgeback would tolerate that !

That just looks like the best spot to be Susanne.
How beautiful is the sunset photo and yes your Kitty is just as beautiful.
I'm always shocked by dog attacks (WHY).
I've had many friends visit with their babies over the years ( we have no kids ) and no-body has ever worried about our Rotti Waldo. He has laid with many of these kids on the floor. If socialised the right way I find dogs quite protective of little ones. It's fantastic to see.

Russell doesn't seem at all worried about much. Great photo's Very Happy

V jeolous of your beautiful spot! How lovely to be able to pop over anytime with the dogs and cool off - mine would be in heaven! We are 2 mins drive from the beach but wouldn't venture there this time of year, the tourists are knee deep Smile The 'dog beach' is only 10 min drive tho and we'll be off there tomorrow!

Russell wasn't worried at all, except when his plastic shark flew out of his hands (seen in the first photo in the water under kittys jaw) and taking flight in this one Very Happy

I judge Rotties and the breed standard is very clear about their temperament, as they say "theres not a bad dog, just bad owners"

Ditto....the only gsd I had and bred over 13 litters were the ones that were bought as adults.... not raised with children...didnt have any major probs....but had to watch and be extra careful around my kids and their friends. Most of my homebred dogs would have made better labs. in temperament than GSD...Lovely to LIVE with!! Very Happy Very Happy p.s. Suzanne...beautiful dog and even more beautiful spot to live....the grandson is a cutie too!!!

Could have sworn all the alchies were in WA Sinner, good to see we're spreading out and sending the good word. (Tammy, secretly I'm very jealous, would love to drink more water and be more healthy but just can't seem to do it as much as I should, have the odd guilty pang now and then and try harder but at the end of a long hard hot day, water just doesn't do it as much as I would like) I'm actually more of a Jim Beam sort of girl with coke or dry, but I must admit to having put on a few pounds on over x-mas because of it so I have been cutting back. Same here with the kahlua etc. Try a drink called bananarama, it's a made up milk drink, very nice and would probably go quite nicely with weetbix Very Happy Not that I'm trying to encourage your bad habits No drunken

I've been telling little lies Tammy,

I'm only a teatotler after a couple of Guava Vodka Cruisers. OOOhhhhhh I just love that coldie when I get home, but stop at two, three max, then it's on to the cordial or tea.

Never want those hangovers again. Couple at the end of day but no headache suits me.
Just about to crack second one now, but will be totling later lol!
