stainless steel or plastic Empty stainless steel or plastic

Post by Chase Wed Jan 11, 2012 9:59 pm

I have been looking at getting new snap ons, at the moment I have plastic ones. I’m a bit confused on what to get as I have never used the stainless steel ones before.

What I want to know is if it’s easier to use then the plastic ones and if they heat up like blades do.

Also what are the common lengths you use? I seem to only use two lengths and very rally use the others. So if I buy the stainless steel which lengths should I get.

Stainless are the better choice. You should just get yourself a box. You will be able to buy individual once you've decided on what you prefer.

I bought the box in ss and love them, however the master grooming ones are just as good ( I had to replace a wahl one that broke).

After 3 years of use mine are popping off the blade. The two small pieces that grip onto the base of the blade have over the last year straightened out and I have been bending them back into place but they still pop off.

Well looks like stainless steel it is.

Just what brand now. I have seen the wahl which I prob get because I don't like that the andis are magnetic, Doesn't that stuff up your blades.

Didn't know there where master groomer ones will have to take a look at those first

If they are falling off even after you have bent them back to shape it may be the springs have fallen out. and not holding Sad

Magnetized blades can wear out faster, as your blade wears there are fine metal particles that release and if the blades is magnetized it wont fall off and this can be very abrasive to the blade. Not good idea to use those magnetic strips to hold your blades Suspect
