My poor little kitty is spending a night at the vets. When I brought him in the vet said do you have any other pets. I said yes another cat. he said oh it always happens in threes. I felt like saying be quiet, I don't want (and certainly cannot afford) another pet to be sick.

He was having trouble going to the toilet, Both wee and poo. And found that his bladder was blocked and could not urinate. So he has to have a catheter put in and enema and watched over night. when the bladder gets blocked the potassium levels rise and it causes them to be violently ill so he was vomitting all the way to the vet which worried me even more.

He has always had digestive problems, hard to find foods that agree with him. He was a rescue cat so I don’t know much about his past history. He has had urinary infections before but i have never seen anything come on so fast and so bad before. Hoping he heals quickly

I hate having sick pets but to have two at the same time i am stressed to the max!!!!!!pale

Little Bruce moose came home today but had to wear an Elizabethan collar because he was trying to bite out his catheter. Not only that but with the thunder storms he was stressed to the max. He has finally calmed down I think due to exhaustion. He has to keep it in till Saturday, so not a happy kitty.

The only trouble I am having is trying to get him to drink water. I added some to his wet food but he didn’t eat much of it. Hopefully tomorrow the aesthetic would have worn off and he may be more interested to eat and drink

My gosh talk about a complete turn around. After couple of days of deep depression. having to give him water with a syringe because he would not eat or drink and falling asleep in his little box from exertion because he was always trying to pee the catheter out. Yesterday he got his catheter out, lying flat on the vets table and shivering from being in the worse all deal of his life. Rewind half an hour after cleaning him up and cleaning himself, his back to his normal annoying high pitched meowing self lol. I love how quick animals can bounce back from an ordeal.

His dropped quite a lot of weight so now its trying to convince him that his prescription food tastes good.

Try boiling meats to make a broth so they will drink more. Or wetting down the cans even more. Cranberry supplements will help alot.

Yeah I usually add water to his wet food because I know he has problems but the moment he is only allowed prescription food until the pack is finished and then he is on wet food or fresh meat for the rest of his life. I have had to put him on lysine because with his body being so run down his cat flu has come up. Contracted cat flu before we got him and now when his run down it flares up.

Would really like to know what happen to him before we got him with the amount of problems he has. The only thing I know is he was found dumped the gutter with his brother at a very young age.
