Feeling a little sad Empty Feeling a little sad

Post by GroomRoom Fri Apr 09, 2010 9:47 pm

I know we all experience it, but it doesn't make it easier knowing that it will happen soon.............saying goodbye to a beautiful dog is sooooo hard. I had a phonecall from my Mum late tonight to say that she was on her way to the vets.............it was time to say goodbye to their wonderful doberman Freuen, and although tragically she has lost two of her younger dobes in the last 2 months also, the loss of Freuen is a loss of the beginning of my parents love of dobermans. It was something that has been expected as he is 13 years old and has been struggling with various different old dog issues but it is still so sad. I just felt that I wanted to put in words how much I will remember and miss him..........my mums first doberman, gentle, ignorant Laughing ,protector, adored children and never failed to miss you with his tongue tongue Rolling Eyes .

Brooke. I feel so saddened by your loss. It is very hard to say goodbye - even when you know the time is coming. Crying or Very sad

Remember the good times, and the joy that he brought to the family. He is now running free in Gods garden.

So sorry for you and your family's loss Brooke. We have 2 at the moment that are around 14 years old. One was my late mums little girl. She gets to come in to work with me every day, and I've caught myself looking at her and wondering if she was breathing. Every day is a blessing, and when the day comes, it will be very hard.

Oh Brooke, I know how much you love all your animals Crying or Very sad I'm so sorry to hear of your Mum's lovely Freuen's passing...Like Anthony we have oldies too and bless each day we have them happy, but know all too well what the future holds.
At least with your family he had the best life possible for a dog to have. I think we all can take heart in that, though it doesn't stop the hurt.

Sorry to hear of your family's loss Brooke....It is never easy to say goodbye that's why I think we will not have another dog....It's so hurtful when their time comes....I'll just foster the greys. Hope your mum feels better sharing your dogs....
