Helllooooo everyone!

Im a new member, my name is Jacqui Scull and i own a small grooming salon in Ringwood East in Melb.
I started the business in 2006 after the groomer i was working for decided to down-grade and move her business back to her garage. I took over the lease, started a new business and haven't looked back!
I worked at a few different grooming salons before deciding to go it on my own, I've also been a dog trainer and worked at the Victorian Animal Aid.
I LOVE my job, i think its the best and should have done it years ago! I have a website (www.doggroomingbyjacqui.com.au) if u'd like to suss me out and a facebook page (Jacqui Scull) with tons of pics of my work if u want to look me up and add me (even if u are local to me!!)

Cheers!

Hi jacqui, I'm lisa from Kalgoorlie

I've checked out your site and I love it, your grooming is really good and the dogs look fantastic. Well done on taking it all on. I love those glass front walls where the customer can see in, but how do you get on when the owner comes back for the dog? Must be lots of cleaning Mad

Welcome to the forum.

Hi Jacqui

you need to take a look at the "official who is going to Aus Groom" thread under "events" ....you will find details of the first "Australian Pet Groomer Forum Internet Dinner ".....its a private dinner for any forum member to attend. A private room at the Novotel is all ours for the evening. Fantastic opportunity to get together with dozens of groomers from all around Oz.....We would love to see you there. Check the thread for details ,as the closing date for confirmation & payment is drawing near.

And welcome to the forum also cheers

Awww thanks guys!

Lisa thank you for your compliments! I find people LOVE to see whats going on in the salon. Usually when owners see their dog mucking around if they come early, they duck back out the door, so its not too much of a worry. Ive trained my clients well and usually aim to get the dogs done 15 mins b4 they are due to be picked up anyway.
and YES! the glass could do with a clean daily but 1 or 2 a week is usually sufficient. I find also that the traffic outside keeps a lot of the dogs attention when they are on the table. There's a bit of doggy psychology going there - some of u will know that anything that moves laterally and away will attract a dog's attention and thats exactly what the cars are doing out the front of the shop!

Ps im heading to the internet dinner thread........
