Hi Donna, thanks for your wishes!
Hi Westie, that one is my dog. She just had a bath and "pedicure+manicure" done. No cutting as I am growing her fur

Hi Janet
It's really great to have you on board and it's good to get the different ideas if any from abroad like some of our other members. Let's know when your course/school has finished and let us know how you go. Do you have plans to start up on your own after that?

Hi Janet, welcome to the board. I look forward to chatting to you and picking your brains
I am Brooke from Brisbane Queensland and I have been grooming for about 9 months.
When I went to grooming school early last year there was a young girl from Malaysia doing a course, she was studing for 3 months straight and hoped to go home with enough knowledge to start a business back home. I often wonder how she went.

Its not easy to start on my own, need lots of $$. I guess I will not jump straight into opening a salon or what. Try to find a job perhaps? Or try doing house-call? Any idea?

Hi, so she went to Brisbane to take the course. Do you still contact with her? Any regret in joining this industry? Because my mom is not quite agreeing with me

Re: Hi hi~ I'm Janet!
The course was actually in NSW and no sorry I am not in contact with her but I could possibly get in contact with her or find out how to. I have absolutely no regrets, this industry is very much in demand here in Australia. I get calls all the time from people so relieved to find a groomer that is not booked up months in advance, so we are certainly assured of work. I am not sure what it is like in Malaysia so I can't predict for you what it will be like but don't be put off by people that don't believe it is a viable industry..........we know it is.

Its okay.. you don't really have to get her contact just for me XD I was just curious who is she, in case you still in contact with her
Hmm... I guess any place will have some difficult clients that refuse to send dogs for regular grooming. But one thing for sure, majority are smaller breed over here. Lots of toy poodles, shihtzus, silkies, yorkshires, Min.Schnauzers... I have been to some of our K-9 event, and the St.Poodle that I saw was less then 5? But there are at least 30-40 toy version
