hey everyone
hi thought i'd introduce myself. my name is helen and i live in the UK. i've been grooming for bout 6 years now and i love it. previously i worked with horses which i loved but a job in a boarding kennel came up and i changed career. i started off right at the bottom and worked my way up and eventually learnt to groom. i left there and now manage a salon within a large pet shop although i will soon be moving to another salon. i regularily compete at grooming comps and have had a couple of class placing which i'm proud of. next one is in a few weeks if the bichon is ready. i've just recently become a mummy to the lhasa in my profile pic. i'm hoping to show her and use her at comps fingers crossed.
look forward to getting to know everyone

Hi Helen.
Thanks for the intro and great to meet you. My name's Lisa and I live in Western Australia (Kalgoorlie) and groom from home. I have a nice little set up and take it very easy, only do about 6 dogs a day and I'm still there for when the child comes home from school. I've only been grooming for a year so forums like this are invaluable to me. I'm quite isolated here from major shows and competitions so any help is appreciated. Where in the UK do you live? I used to live in Reading, Berkshire when i was a teenager. I'm also a horsey girl but have to say in a town like this where no grass grows, it's high maintenance having a horse, so it hasn't happened for a few years, but will do again one day, except I would be the weekend plodder type now. Was accepted into Wellington stable (I think that was the name?), close to where I lived when i was 15 to start my horse career but we moved overseas and I was too homesick at that age to leave my parents. Anyway ...... enjoy the forum, good to have you aboard.
