Ian at Father Edge is TOTALLY SENSATIONAL!!! I've been sending all my sharpening and repairs to him for over 10 years. His products and service are a good price and the quality of his work is second to none. He's very quick, very reliable and very honest. king Just a nice guy offering a brilliant service! (Andie)

Ian is very favoured here Jacqui. The ones that weren't using him are now, even interstate.

You won't be sorry and his turn around time is excellent. Give him a ring and he will help you with anything you need. Ian will also be joining us at the Novotel Dinner. A great opportunity to meet him in person. cheers

Ditto to all the above. I've tried others and they're not as brilliant as Ian. My turn around from Kalgoorlie is 6 days (4 working days) which is FAST! (Post has to go to Perth first then over East)

I suppose everyone has different experiences. My girlfriend took her blades to feather edge only to have them all come back blunt. She then had a panic attack as she was told the problem was the clippers. Trusting the feedback she purchased a new set as she could not be without her clippers, only to find the blades still did not work. I advised her to try my guy and he re-did the blades and they came up a treat. I do understand sharpening is a tricky business, but the sharpener has to understand they can do the job poorly and accept that we can not be without our tools, nor spend further money on equipment that was not need in the first instance.

Me too!! Over 10 years and not one problem! There must be some more to the story. I don't believe Ian is capable of sending a blunt blade back. It would be like a client accusing me of not washing a dog... not possible to do!

The only problem I've ever had with Ian is my inexperience. So I've never had any problems and Ian has actually saved me in difficult times many times. cheers

That is so weird, i have used ian (and dad when at shows) since coming to Oz some eight years back, and I can recall the first time he sharpened my gear - i told all my friends in NZ, that my blades/sizzors were better than when i first purchased them. They were mucho jealous.

When Ian and his dad come to the dog shows with the mobile operation, people line up and are prepared to wait for hours just to get the feather edge Very Happy

Jan raises a good point. Many people think that a blade and scissors will be at their sharpest when new and mistakenly rely on removing a blade from its packet expecting it to be sharp only to find it is blunt. The quality of factory sharpening is poor and I know of one supplier that sharpens all blades before they are sold. The same is for scissors, as many are made in Pakistan and the level of sharpening is poor.
